UK: Nintendo Games Had 6.6 Percent Market Share In 2015

Recent sales data obtained by MCV shows that Nintendo software accounted for 6.6 percent of the UK video game market during 2015. In comparison, Microsoft had 5.9 percent and Sony had 5.7 percent. However, it was third party developers that saved the day with Electronic Arts having the largest market share at 19.5 percent, Activision Blizzard in second with 13.1 percent and Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment placing third with 9.5 percent. As far as Nintendo hardware goes the Nintendo 3DS scored fifth place with a 4.8 percent market share, the Wii U had a 3.5 percent market share, Wii had 1 percent, and the Nintendo DS had 0.7 percent, but it was the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One that were the dominant forces at 36.3 percent market share and 29.7 percent.
